The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts the 10th Level Examination (commonly known as 10th Level PSC) for various government posts where the eligibility is SSLC (10th standard). This recruitment process typically has two major stages:
Preliminary Examination (common test to shortlist candidates)
Mains / Departmental Exam or Shortlist Stage (post-specific written exam or interview depending on post)
Cut-offs are released at various stages to filter candidates — especially for prelims and mains eligibility.
👉 Exam schedules for each stage are published on the Kerala PSC 10th Level exam date page.
For the Kerala PSC 10th Level Prelims in 2023, official cutoff marks were published for various category-wise posts. For example:
Post / Category | Cut-Off (Prelims 2023) |
|---|---|
Office Attendant Grade II / Messenger / Night Watchman | 48.69 |
Farm Worker – Part II (Fishermen / Dependent) | 0.82 |
LGS Univ. (Last Grade Servant) | 55.44 |
Farm Worker – Part I (General Category) | 82 |
These marks were the minimum required to qualify for the next stage of selection (e.g., short list or mains) in that cycle.
Official mains cut-off marks are generally released post-exam on the Kerala PSC website as part of the Ranked List or Eligibility List PDFs. For many posts — especially district-wise positions like Last Grade Servant (LGS) — these are published post mains exam.
Example: LGS Mains Cut-Offs (2025 Cycle)
For Last Grade Servant (Category No. 535/2023) — a popular 10th Level post conducted in 2024–25 — district-wise mains cutoff marks were officially published and ranged roughly as follows (marks scored out of 100):
District | Cut-Off Marks |
|---|---|
Kasaragod | 68.00 |
Kannur | 59.33 |
Wayanad | 68.00 |
Kozhikode | 73.00 |
Malappuram | 61.33 |
Palakkad | 73.67 |
Thrissur | 64.00 |
Ernakulam | 68.33 |
Idukki | 49.67 |
Kottayam | 57.33 |
Alappuzha | 67.67 |
Pathanamthitta | 52.67 |
Kollam | 70.00 |
Thiruvananthapuram | 65.33 |
This is one of the most recent and widely referenced mains cut-off sets available for a 10th Level post and gives a good idea of what marks candidates needed to be shortlisted in the final rank list.
Kerala PSC cut-offs for the 10th Level exam (both prelims and mains) are influenced by several factors:
Number of vacancies: Fewer vacancies → higher cut-offs.
Number of applicants: More competition → cut-off rises.
Difficulty of question paper: Harder papers can push cut-offs lower and vice-versa.
Category and reservation: Different categories may have slightly different effective cut-offs.
Cut-off marks are generally published alongside rank lists or eligibility lists on the official keralapsc.gov.in portal under the “Results” / “Ranked List” section.
✅ Prelims vs Mains: Clearing the prelims cut-off is just the first step — mains or departmental exams often have their own cut-off or shortlist criteria.
✅ District-wise variation: In many 10th Level posts like LGS, cut-offs vary by district depending on local competition and vacancies.
✅ No universal cut-off: 10th Level exams are held for many different posts (e.g., LGS, Office Attendant, Field Worker), and each post has its own cut-off (prelims and mains).
