Candidates appearing for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) September 2025 must secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks (cut-off) to be declared KTET qualified. These cut-off marks are officially decided by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan and vary according to the candidate’s category. Qualifying KTET is mandatory for applying to teaching posts in Kerala. However, it is important to note that KTET qualification does not guarantee appointment, but it is an essential eligibility condition for various teaching positions.
The KTET examination for all categories is conducted for a total of 150 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are as follows:
General Category
Candidates must score 60% marks, which is 90 out of 150.
OBC / SC / ST / PH Categories
Candidates are given relaxation and must secure 55% marks, which is 82 out of 150.
Candidates who score equal to or above the prescribed cut-off will be awarded the KTET Eligibility Certificate.
KTET is conducted for Category I, II, III, and IV.
There is no negative marking in the KTET examination.
As per current rules, the KTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.
Cut-off marks are uniform across sessions and decided by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan.
