• Six weeks is the time limit for the Parliament to approve these ordinances. Within this limit it must be replaced by a law.
• The Ordinance can be in force of a maximum period of 7 ½ months (6 months + 6 weeks) without approval al of the Parliament.
• If Ordinance is not replaced by law (within time period) the President can reissue and this procedure can be continued for a long time. (Ordinance Raj)
• The President can withdraw an ordinance at any time.
