• In Travancore province, the Cooperative movement started in the year 1914.
• This took place soon after the passing of the Travancore co-operative society Act of 1914.
• 1^st Act in Travancore state was passed by - SriMoolam Thirunaal Rama Varma (on 3-3-1914)
• 1^st registrar in Travancore state - C. Govinda pillai (1914).
• The bill was passed as an act on - 3rd March, 1914 (when M. Krishna Nair was the Diwan).
• The 1st co-operative society registered under the Act was - Trivandrum Central Co-operative Bank (on 23rd November, 1915 ).
• It started functioning on 18th January, 1916.
