Gases such as Carbon dioxide, methane, ozone etc. And water vapour present in the atmosphere absorb the terrestrial radiation and retain the temperature of the atmosphere. This phenomenon is called:

AGreenhouse effect

BGlobal warming

COzone depletion

DAcid rain

Answer:

A. Greenhouse effect

Read Explanation:

Atmosphere as a green house

Green house effect

  • Glass panes have the capacity to allow insolation to pass through. By preventing the terrestrial radiations, the temperature required for the growth of plants is retained inside glass constructions. Such buildings are called Green houses.

  • Gases such as Carbon dioxide, methane, ozone etc. And water vapour present in the atmosphere absorb the terrestrial radiation and retain the temperature of the atmosphere. This phenomenon is called Greenhouse effect.

Green House Gases

  • The gases causing the phenomena are called Greenhouse gases. Their uncontrolled increase causes rise in temperature in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is dominant among them.

  • Greenhouse gases are formed mainly through Industrialisation, Urbanisation and some human activities such as deforestation, burning of fossil fuels etc.
