സാധ്യമല്ലാത്ത (unlikely) ഒരു കാര്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ഊഹിച്ചു (hypothetical) പറയുന്ന വാക്യങ്ങളാണ് Second Conditional.
ഇത്തരം വാക്യങ്ങളിൽ Subordinate Clause ൽ ക്രിയയുടെ simple past (V2) രൂപം ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയും Main Clause ൽ ക്രിയയ്ക്കൊപ്പം 'would' ചേർക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
For example, "If I knew her name" (simple past) and "I would tell you" (would + base form of the verb).
