• In March 2022, a pilot project was launched by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to evaluate the performance of the Toyota Mirai on Indian roads and in Indian climatic conditions.

• This project was a collaboration between Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. and the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT).
