Interkinesis is a short resting phase between Meiosis I and Meiosis II where no DNA replication occurs.
It is followed by Prophase II, which marks the beginning of Meiosis II.
In Prophase II, the chromatin condenses, the nuclear envelope starts breaking down, and spindle fibers begin to form again, preparing the cells for the second meiotic division.
