    Mamballi plate

    • In 149 Kollam Era (974 CE) Sri Vallabhan Kothai was ruling at Kollam is proved by the
      evidence of the Mamballi plate dated Kollam Era 149.
    • The Mampalli copper plate records a donation from the chiefly family of Venad, present-day Kerala, to the Chengannur Temple
    • The inscription is the earliest epigraphical record to mention the Kollam Era.
    • The record is engraved on both sides of a single copper plate in Vattezhuthu with Grantha characters in an early form of Malayalam language

    Jewish copper plates

    • It was also known as Cochin plates
    • The document is dated by historians to c. 1000 CE
    • It was issued by Bhaskara Ravi-varman,the Chera-Perumal king at Kodungallur
    • It is a royal charter issued to Joseph Rabban, a Jewish merchant living in Kodungallur
