Shree Narayana Guru founded the Shree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) in 1903 to carry on the work of social reform, particularly advocating for the upliftment of the Ezhava community and promoting social equality.
This organization worked to spread the ideas of equality and reformation in Kerala.
He fought for the emancipation of the oppressed castes in society, especially the Ezhavas.
His followers Padmanabhan Palpu and Kumaran Asan popularised the SNDP movement in the 20th century.
