Read Explanation:

Given ratio of boys to girls = 7∶5 Let the number of boys be 700 and the number of girls be 500 total number of students =700 + 500 = 1200 Number of boys who get admission = (10/100) × 700 = 70 Number of girls who get admission = (20/100) × 500 = 100 total number of students who get admission = 100 + 70 = 170 number of students who did not admission = 1200 - 170 = 1030 percentage of students who did not get admission = [(1200 - 170)/1200] × 100 = (1030/1200) × 100 = 1030/12 = 85.83%
