"The Borderers" is a verse tragedy written by William Wordsworth in 1796–1797. It is set during the Wars of Scottish Independence and explores themes of morality, betrayal, and the corrupting influence of power. The play was heavily influenced by the Gothic style popular at the time, but it was never successfully staged during Wordsworth’s lifetime.
