The Bikaner School of Paintings, a prominent Rajasthani style, was developed under the patronage of Raja Karan Singh in the 17th century. Artists such as Ali Raza, known as the "Ustad (master) of Delhi," Ruknuddin, and his son Shahadin, contributed significantly to this school's distinctive style, which blended Mughal and Deccani influences. A notable example of this tradition is the painting "Krishna Swinging and Radha in a Sad Mood," created in 1683 by the artist Nuruddin, who was active at the Bikaner court between 1674 and 1698.
