In Rasa theory, Sthayi Bhavas are the eight stable or dominant emotions that form the basis of the eight Rasas. The eight Sthayi Bhavas are:
Rati (Love) → Shringara Rasa (Romance/Beauty)
Hasya (Laughter) → Hasya Rasa (Humor)
Shoka (Sorrow) → Karuna Rasa (Compassion)
Krodha (Anger) → Raudra Rasa (Fury)
Utsaha (Enthusiasm) → Veera Rasa (Heroism)
Bhaya (Terror/Fear) → Bhayanaka Rasa (Horror/Fear)
Jugupsa (Disgust) → Bibhatsa Rasa (Disgust)
Vismaya (Astonishment/Wonder) → Adbhuta Rasa (Wonder)
Nirveda (Detachment) is not a Sthayi Bhava; it is considered a Vyabhichari Bhava (transitory emotion) instead.
