Which two signs should be interchanged in the following equation to make it correct? 3 - 6 × 18 + 4 ÷ 2 = 2

A- and ÷

B× and -

C× and ÷

D× and +

Answer:

B. × and -

Read Explanation:

1) - and ÷

Given equation: 36×18+4÷2=23-6\times{18}+4\div{2}=2

After interchanging the signs, we get:

L.H.S =3÷6×18+42=3\div{6}\times{18}+4-2

=0.5×8+42=0.5\times{8}+4-2

= 9 + 4 – 2

= 13 – 2

= 11 ≠ R.H.S

2) × and –

Given equation: 3 - 6×18+4÷2=26\times{18}+4\div{2}=2

After interchanging the signs, we get:

L.H.S = 3×618+4÷23\times{6}-18+4\div{2}

= 18 – 18 + 2

= 2 = R.H.S

Hence, ‘× and –’ is the correct answer.
