Krogstad is the character who knows about Nora's forgery.
He is a disgraced employee of Torvald's bank and uses his knowledge of Nora's secret to blackmail her, threatening to reveal the forgery unless she persuades Torvald to keep him employed at the bank.
This threat becomes a major source of tension in the play.
