Candidates appearing for the KTET 2025 examination are required to obtain the minimum qualifying marks, commonly known as the cut-off, to be considered KTET qualified. These qualifying marks are prescribed by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan and differ according to the candidate’s category. Clearing the KTET is a compulsory requirement for applying to teaching positions in Kerala; however, it does not assure appointment.
Knowing the KTET cut-off marks helps candidates clearly understand the minimum score required to qualify for the examination. It allows aspirants to set a realistic target score, plan their preparation effectively, and assess their chances of qualifying. Awareness of the cut-off also helps candidates evaluate their performance after the exam and avoid unnecessary confusion while waiting for results.
Each KTET paper is conducted for a total of 150 marks.
Candidates from the General category must secure 60% marks, which equals 90 marks out of 150.
OBC, SC, ST, and PH candidates are eligible for relaxation and need to score 55% marks, that is, 82 out of 150.
Candidates who achieve the required cut-off will be issued the KTET Eligibility Certificate.
The most recent KTET was conducted in September 2025 as per the official timetable released by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan. To efficiently manage all categories, the exam was held over two days. On September 18, 2025, Category I was conducted in the morning session, followed by Category II in the afternoon. On September 19, 2025, Category III took place in the morning, while Category IV, covering Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education Teachers, was held in the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
KTET is conducted in offline mode using OMR answer sheets, with each paper having a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The exam is administered by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan, ensuring a fair, transparent, and standardized evaluation process across all categories.
To qualify KTET 2025, General category candidates must score at least 90 marks, while OBC/SC/ST/PH candidates must secure a minimum of 82 marks out of 150. The September 2025 KTET exam was conducted smoothly across two days with all four categories covered. Candidates preparing for upcoming KTET exams should aim well above the cut-off to ensure qualification.
