The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in government and aided schools across Kerala. KTET is divided into four categories based on the level of teaching, and Category 2 is specifically designed for those aspiring to teach Classes V to VII in upper primary schools.
The KTET Category 2 exam is scheduled to be held on February 21,2026 in the afternoon session. As per the official notification released by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan, the exam timing for Category 2 is as follows:
Shift 2: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
(Category 2 exam will be conducted during this shift)
This paper evaluates candidates on essential teaching competencies such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language proficiency, Mathematics/Science or Social Science, depending on the subject area of specialization. A strong understanding of the curriculum and teaching methodology is critical for success in this category.

The KTET Hall Ticket for the August 2025 exam will be released before 14 days of the exam, on the official website – https://ktet.kerala.gov.in. Candidates who applied can download their admit cards by logging in with their application ID and date of birth.
The hall ticket is a mandatory document to appear for the exam and includes important details such as:
Candidate’s Name and Photograph
Roll Number
Exam Date and Time
Category of Exam (I, II, III, or IV)
Exam Centre Name and Address
Exam Day Instructions
Candidates must verify all the information carefully, and in case of any discrepancies, they should immediately contact Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan for corrections.
It is essential to carry a printed copy of the hall ticket along with a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.) to the exam centre. Entry will not be permitted without these documents.
