Candidates appearing for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) 2025 must obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying marks (cut-off) to be declared KTET qualified. The cut-off marks are fixed by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan and vary according to the candidate’s category. While qualifying the KTET is mandatory to apply for teaching posts in Kerala, it does not guarantee appointment.
Understanding the KTET cut-off marks helps candidates determine the minimum score required to qualify for the examination. It enables aspirants to set a realistic target, plan their preparation effectively, and evaluate their performance after the exam. Awareness of the cut-off also reduces uncertainty while waiting for results and helps candidates assess their qualification status confidently.
Kerala TET Category | Minimum Qualifying Percentage | Passing Marks (Out of 150) |
|---|---|---|
General Category | 60% | 90 Marks |
OBC / SC / ST / PH | 55% | 82 Marks |
KTET is conducted for 150 marks for each category (I, II, III, and IV).
Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks will be issued the KTET Eligibility Certificate.
There is no negative marking in the KTET examination.
As per current rules, the KTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.
