A 180 cm long wire is formed into a rectangle. If the width of this rectangle is 30 cm, what is its length?

A45 cm

B60 cm

C90 cm

D120 cm

Answer:

B. 60 cm

Read Explanation:

Given:

The length of the wire = 180 cm

The width of the rectangle = 30 cm

Formula used:

Perimeter of the rectangle =2×(l+b)= 2\times{(l + b)}

Here l → Length, b → breadth

Calculation:

Let the length of the rectangle be l cm

According to the question

Perimeter of the rectangle =2×(l+b)= 2\times{(l + b)}

2×(l+30)=180 2\times{(l + 30)} = 180

⇒ l + 30=1802 =\frac{ 180}{2}

⇒ l + 30 = 90

⇒ l = 90 – 30

⇒ l = 60

∴ The length of the rectangle is 60 cm
