Unemployment Allowance Scheme was introduced by the Government of Kerala in -1982
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth in the state.
To be eligible, applicants must be over 18 years of age and must have passed SSLC.
For SC/ST candidates and persons with disabilities, it is sufficient to have appeared for the SSLC examination.
The applicant's annual family income must be below 12,000, and monthly personal income must be below ₹100.
Applicants must have been registered in the live register of Employment Exchanges for over three years (for persons with disabilities, the required period of registration is two years)
Eligible applicants receive an unemployment assistance of ₹120 per month, up to the age of 35 years.
Following the enactment of the Kerala Panchayati Raj Act and Kerala Municipality Act the scheme was transferred to rural and urban Local Governments for implementation
