The ozone layer can be traced in the stratosphere. It extends to 20-25 km away from the surface of the earth. It helps to absorb the ultraviolet radiation.
About 90% of ozone is present in stratosphere. It is between 10 and 17 kilometers above the Earth's surface and extends up to 50 kilometers. The remaining 10% of ozone is in the lower region of the atmosphere, which is commonly called the troposphere.
