Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited is a state-owned iron ore producer with its headquarters and administrative activities in Bangalore, Karnataka. It has a pelletization plant at Mangalore and an iron ore mine located in Kudremukh National Park, Chikmagalur district, Karnataka. It is owned by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Kudremukh mine is one of the largest iron ore mines in the world. The plant was shut down in 2011 but in 2014 the plant resumed production and export of pellets run on ores supplied by NMDC Ltd. The pellets have been shipped to countries such as China, Iran, Japan and Taiwan.
