Articles 36-51 under Part-IV of the Indian Constitution deal with Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP). They are borrowed from the Constitution of Ireland, which had copied it from the Spanish Constitution. The Directive Principles of State Policy set out in Part IV of the Constitution shall be full and independent principles of State Policy which shall be recognized and observed by the State and which shall form the basic policy of the Government in all matters.” It includes implementation of the uniform civil code, abolition of untouchability and prohibition of its practice in any form and removal of legal disabilities on the women etc.
