Adolescence (often called the stage of "Stress and Storm" by G. Stanley Hall) is a period of rapid physical, cognitive, and emotional change. A teacher’s role must be multifaceted to support a student through this transition:
Becoming a good counselor (A): Adolescents often face identity crises and social pressures. A teacher must move beyond "lecturing" to provide guidance, listen actively, and help them navigate personal and academic choices.
Helping with emotional balance (B): This stage is marked by heightened emotionality and mood swings. A teacher helps students develop emotional intelligence, helping them manage frustration, peer pressure, and self-esteem issues.
Providing a stimulating and pleasant environment (C): To prevent role confusion and boredom, the classroom must be engaging (stimulating) and safe/supportive (pleasant). This encourages healthy risk-taking and exploration of talents.
