The purpose of the 'Awareness and Communication' component of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) is to build NeGP as a recognized brand and to effectively inform the public about the new e-governance services and their benefits.
This component serves as a bridge between the government's digital initiatives and the citizens they are meant to serve. Its main objectives are to:
Create Awareness: Inform citizens about the various e-services available, such as online tax filing, passport applications, and land record digitization. Without public awareness, even the best-designed digital services won't be used.
Build Trust: By clearly communicating the benefits, security, and ease of use, this component helps build trust in government's digital services. This is essential for encouraging widespread adoption, especially among those who are not tech-savvy.
Encourage Adoption: Through various communication channels like social media, print media, workshops, and roadshows, the component aims to drive demand and increase the use of these services.
Build Brand Identity: It works to establish a consistent and recognizable brand for the overall NeGP and its various projects (like Digital India), ensuring that citizens can easily identify and access these government services.
