Sir Syed Ahmed Khan founded the Scientific Society in 1864 with the goal of translating English books on science and other subjects into Urdu, aiming to promote scientific knowledge among Muslims in India.
The Scientific Society of Aligarh was founded by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan in the year 1864.
He founded the society on the lines of the Royal Society of London to promote scientific knowledge among Muslims of India.
He was also the founder of The Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in the year 1875 which later developed into Aligarh Muslim University.
