• The historic Kerala Education Bill was introduced in the Kerala Legislative Assembly by the then Education Minister, Prof. Joseph Mundasseri, on July 13, 1957, during the tenure of Kerala's first democratically elected communist ministry led by E.M.S. Namboodiripad. The bill aimed to reorganize educational institutions and secure better service conditions and salary security for teachers, though it sparked widespread socio-political debates and protests.
