The extremists criticised the moderates for their ''mendicancy''
Dadabhai Naoroji, Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee, G Subramania Aiyer, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Madan Mohan Malaviya and Sir Surendranath Banerjee, are a few of the most prominent Moderate leaders.
Moderates chose the peaceful path for attainment of freedom. They used constitutional methods, used petitions, meetings, resolutions, pamphlets, memoranda and delegations to voice their demands. They were not demanding complete freedom, rather aimed to achieve political rights and self-government under British dominion.
