    Read Explanation:

    • , Leningrad [now St. Petersburg]) was a Russian physiologist known chiefly for his development of the concept of the conditioned reflex.

    • Pavlov's Experiment:

Pavlov's famous experiment involved dogs. He would ring a bell (neutral stimulus) and then present the dogs with food (unconditioned stimulus). The food would naturally cause the dogs to salivate (unconditioned response). After repeating this pairing several times, Pavlov found that the dogs would begin to salivate simply at the sound of the bell (conditioned stimulus), even without the presence of food. This salivation in response to the bell became the conditioned response.
