Telugu Literature
The Vijayanagar period is often hailed as the golden age of Telugu literature.
During this time, Nachana Somanatha, a court poet under Bukka I, composed the poetic work Uttaraharivamsam.
The most illustrious ruler of the Vijayanagar Empire, Krishnadevaraya, was not only a powerful monarch but also a poet of exceptional talent.
His celebrated work Amuktamalyada is recognized as one of the finest prabandhas in Telugu literature.
His court was graced by eight eminent Telugu poets, collectively known as the Ashtadiggajas.
Among them, Allasani Peddana, the author of Manucharitram, stood out as the most distinguished.
Revered as the Andhra Kavita Pitamaha (the grandfather of Telugu poetry), his literary contributions set a high standard for poetic excellence.
