William Tobias Ringeltaube was the Prussian Protestant Missionary who carried out educational activities in Nagercoil and the nearby regions of South Travancore (now Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu) during the early decades of the 19th century.
He was a German Lutheran missionary from Silesia, Kingdom of Prussia.
He arrived in Mylaudy, South Travancore, in 1806 as the first Protestant missionary of the London Missionary Society (LMS).
He is credited with starting the first English-medium school in Travancore at Mylaudy in 1809, and he established several schools and churches in the region.
The educational work he began was later continued and expanded by his successor, Rev. Charles Mead, who shifted the mission headquarters to Nagercoil in 1818.
