PERT is a probabilistic approach used to estimate the probability of completing a project by a given deadline. Three-point estimation technique is used in PERT, with optimistic time, most likely time, and pessimistic time. Failure time is the odd one out with respect to PERT, as it is not a part of the three-point estimation technique used in PERT.
