DBehaviour is innate

Answer:

A. Punishment can strengthen the behavior

Read Explanation:

B.F. Skinner was a Harvard psychologist and behaviorist who believed that human behavior is a result of conditioning in an environment of stimulus, reward, and punishment. His theories include:

  • Operant conditioning

Skinner's theory that the consequences of a behavior determine whether it will be repeated. Behaviors that are followed by a pleasant consequence are more likely to be repeated, while behaviors that are followed by an unpleasant consequence are less likely to be repeated.

  • ABCs of behaviorism

A way to remember the theory of learning, which states that a person is first exposed to a stimulus, which elicits a response, and the response is then reinforced. The ABCs are antecedent (stimulus), behavior (response), and consequence (reinforcement).

  • External motivation

The idea that learned responses and their outcomes motivate human behavior. This is called external motivation because it involves things outside of one's personal thoughts and experiences reinforcing it.

  • Personality

Skinner believed that personality continues to develop throughout life, and that it is not affected by life or childhood.

  • Speech

Skinner was the first scientist to find orderly and predictable relations between the speech of an individual and the behavior of the listener.
