Kerala Land Conservancy Act

• Commenced on 1957 by the Government of Kerala to check the unauthorised occupation of Government lands and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto
• The Section 10 of this act defines Penalty for destruction or appropriation of trees.
• It states that Any person who destroys or appropriates any useful tree belonging to the Government shall be liable for damages not exceeding three times the value of the tree as adjudged by the Collector
