• ബുദ്ധിമാനം എന്ന പദം ആദ്യമായി പ്രയോഗിച്ചത് ജർമൻ മനഃശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനായ വില്യം സ്റ്റേൺ (William Stern) ആണ്.

•  മാനസികവയസ്സും (MA) കാലികവയസ്സും(CA) തമ്മിലുള്ള അനുപാദത്തിൻ്റെ ശതമാന രൂപമാണ് ബുദ്ധിമാനം (intelligence quotient) 

• IQ = Mental Age / Chronological Age x 100.

  • 30 - ൽ താഴെ ജഡബുദ്ധി 

• IQ 70 ൽ താഴെയുള്ളവരെ ദുർബലബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ (Feeble minded) എന്നും 130 ൽ കൂടുതലുള്ളവരെ പ്രതിഭാസമ്പന്നർ (Gifted) എന്നും വിളിക്കുന്നു.

• The term 'intelligence' was first introduced by the German psychologist William Stern.

• Mental age (MA) or Chronological age (CA) is the percentage of the ratio between IQ (intelligence quotient) 

• IQ = Mental Age / Chronological Age x 100.

• Based on the above equation, Wechsler developed a scale.. This is the Wechsler Scale.

• If a child's mental age is equal to their chronological age, their IQ will be 100. An IQ below 100 indicates below-average intelligence, and an IQ above 100 indicates above-average intelligence. 

• Classification of Intelligence Levels:- 

  People are classified based on their intelligence levels according to the categorization by Louis M. Terman.

  • Above 130 - Very Superior / Genius

  • 115 - 130 - Superior / Very High

  • 85 - 115 - Average

  • 70 - 85 - Dull 

  • 50 - 70 - Moron 

  • 30 - 50 - Imbecile 

  • Below 30 - Idiot 

• Those with an IQ below 70 are known as Feeble-minded, and those with an IQ above 130 are referred to as Gifted.
